GORDON BENNETT 2018: THE LANDING
Following a long descent from over 5000 meters, we were still wearing our warm suits and didn’t really have the time to take them off – so we floated gently towards the town of Agonac, looking out for a spot to land, still wearing orange all over.
Windspeeds were close to calm on the ground, just as we had hoped – and along came a little valley with some nice meadows, out went the trailrope and two (unnecessary) bags, and there we were!
Grinning like schoolboys, we called our command center, then the race director, and within minutes, our retrieve was there. What an amazing adventure! :-)
