THE FIRST OF THE SEASON
On Friday, October 4th, it was time for the first Alpine Crossing of the season! Wonderful warm weather, a nice direction and perfect ATC made it a fantastic opening for the 19/20 winter.
A very special moment for me was when we fly over the lovely Val Sarentino between Vipiteno and Bolzano: Having spent many summer and winter holidays there, it had always been a special dream of mine to fly over the dreamy little valley. And now, that finally came true!
The first hours of our flight had already been spectacular, but the best was yet to come. Crossing the Dolomites is a breathtaking sight that is hard to capture in words. In the end, it left us silent, simply amazed by the immemorial, massive structures of stone beneath us.
After flying out over flat terrain again in Italy, all we had to do was descend for a nice landing close to Pradipozzo, with a 15 minutes walk to the next restaurant with some delicious pasta and wine! :-)
Thanks again:
– Bavaria Ballonfahrten for the probably best job in the world ;-)
– DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, Austro Control and Enav for safe and easy guidance
– Florian Hellmich for a perfect retrieve!
Now waiting for the next slot… D-OBBF over and out!
