PILOT OF YOUR LIFE
Often have adventurers like Richard Branson or Bertrand Piccard described ballooning as a wonderful metaphor of life. Facebook user Ciel D’opale, a French balloonist, has now published a touching poem, and we have translated it for you :-)
One day, my child,
you will be a pilot.
Pilot of your life.
Life is a balloon flight. You know where your flight starts, but you don’t know where it will end.
You are going to encounter favourable winds, and others not so favourable.
Don’t stay on a bad trajectory. You have the power to rise – or descend to take shelter behind the mountains.
If you elevate yourself, you will always find the right direction.
Do it without fear. Only action will change your destiny.
Look around you at the beauty of the world. It is everywhere, in the blue sky as well as in the gray. In sunrise and sunset. In the smells of golden wheat fields or brushwood.
If you pass over a forest, do not forget to stroke the treetops. If you caress the surface of the water, look at the reflection of the sky and the clouds.
Breathe deep up there, listen to the silence – it is often talking. If doubt catches up with you, listen to your heart and your intuition. They will never betray you.
It takes so little to feel bliss.
Always respect Mother Earth. Take care of her to live well.
Be humble. Nature will always be stronger than you.
To land, anticipate, reflect, observe the winds and breezes.
If the wind is strong, look for the calm behind a hill. If the wind is mild, choose your terrain quietly. You will always have a choice.
Take care of your passengers, they will never forget your kindness and friendship.
Make good memories with the people you meet on landing. They will talk a lot about you for a long time.
Don’t forget to thank Mother Earth after each adventure.
Pay tribute to her for making you what you are:
Pilot of your life.
Life is a balloon flight.
To all the children of this world…
