“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
(Leonardo Da Vinci)
This famous aviation quote, attributed to no one less than Leonardo Da Vinci, describes like no other what the experience of flight can feel like – even though the great natural scientist and artiste could nothing but dream about it. The first men to fly were others, and it was not until November 1783 that two brave noblemen dared to board one of the Montgolfier Brothers’ famous flying machines – a hot air balloon constructed of cloth, paper and wood.
To this day, the archaic flying machine has lost nothing of its fascination. All around the world, a colourful balloon in the sky is a thrilling sight to the people, and it was no different with us – the passion aroused by this way of flying can hardly be put in words. It may even lead to a lifelong addiction – which in our case, it definitely did!
And finally, after years of determination and perseverance, we are lucky enough to belong to this fortunate group of people to call one of these colourful fire powered airships their own, and enjoy the freedom of flying it wherever we wish.
“Because that’s what a ship is, you know? It’s not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails,
that’s what a ship needs… but what a ship is… what the Black Pearl really is… is freedom.”
(Captain Jack Sparrow)
