This afternoon, we left our hotel at Douz and travelled over the great salt lake “Chott El Jerid” to Tozeur. On a safe dam, that is – legends go that in the 14th century, a complete caravan with over 1000 animals and their cameleers disappeared there. [...]
This morning, we finally took to the skies over Tunisia! :-) After the last rain showers had disappeared, we took off south of Kebili and flew in a south-westerly direction towards Douz. What an amazing view! [...]

It was a looong crazy trip all across Tunisia, but we have finally arrived at the Sun Palm Hotel in Douz. Refuelling is set for noon, so no morning flight – a very welcome opportunity to catch some well deserved sleep ;-) [...]
The balloonists’ caravan is moving on towards the city of Douz, the ‘Gate to the Sahara’, south east of the great salt lakes. There we will spend the night, refuel our cylinders… and maybe even fly tomorrow! :D [...]
