BALLONBLÜHEN @ LUDWIGSBURG

For the grand opening of the 70th season of the ‘Blooming Baroque’, the lush gardens around Ludwigsburg Palace, a team of model balloonists from all over southern Germany had organised something special: Over 80 model balloons should inflate all around the gardens and add colourful spots to the lavishly planted flower fields.

What worked extremely well on the calm Friday evening – we even set a new world record for the largest display of model hot air balloons with 81 little aerostats – became much more challenging on Saturday and Sunday, with strong gusts whipping all over the park. We tried to inflate the models in shaded areas, but it was a fight all the less.

Despite all the efforts, we had great fun meeting model balloon friends old and new and enjoyed the mostly perfect and swift organisation which went remarkably well for a first time event of this scale – our recognition and thanks to the team that made it all possible! :-)
