Just hold your nerves and you’ll be fine!

Our ninth consecutive flight brought a bit of true adventure!

As some kind of special competition, a hare and hounds was called out, and the hounds were allowed to hot inflate right after the hare had taken off. Luckily, we were quick enough and did just that, for right after our takeoff, the wind turned and got stronger, forcing all of the other teams to abort inflating. At the time when the competition was cancelled, we were already up high!

What made things interesting was that the windspeed and direction were quite different to the forecast, pushing us towards the Hahnenkamm with twelve knots! The hare decided to land near the Ochsalm, where we had been for lunch the day before, but we didn’t quite like the thought of an uphill landing at that speed, so we continued flying. And eventually, at 2700 meters, we found a nice drift towards the valley south of Kitzbühl, where we decended again and had a calm and safe landing near Jochberg.

Just hold your nerves… ;-)
