… was the definite highlight of our weekend at Chemnitz! :-) When the launch of the hot air balloons on Saturday evening was cancelled due to too gusty conditions, the 2014 gas balloon world champions Wilhelm Eimers and Matthias Zenge decided to inflate their netless gas balloon for an evening hop, and I was lucky enough to fly with them. Thank you Gasballoon Team Zenge / Eimers for that unique experience!
Another adventure at Chemnitz, apart from ballooning, was a flight with the historic Antonow AN-2 airplane – an unforgettable experience for sure, but oh what a loud one! I definitely prefer the gas balloon… ;-)
We also had some model balloon action, of course, and a nicely choreographed mini night glow… no photos from that one, as we all were busy glowing, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy the pictures nevertheless.
A LIFE OF BALLOONING
The passion of a lifetime: To behold the stunning beauty of our world like no one else, free like a bird, high in the sky, yet one with nature, using the oldest principle of flight known to man: Lighter than air.
No wings, no noise, no pressure… just serenity, just perfect bliss. At one with the elements… at one with yourself.
