Expecting winds from south-westerly directions, we took off from Westendorf to do a fly in to Kirchberg again &#8211; soon discovering that winds were coming from north-west rather than south-west. They took us right over the Alpenrose, into the mountains&#8230; what to do?<\/p>\n<p>We knew that the next valley, the Spertental, typically develops a drainage flow as the sun descends.
