It was a most exciting Saturday at Stuttgart! Not only the weather situation was a bit of a gamble, but also the planned highlight of the day: Skydive world champion Klaus Renz jumping from one of our balloons and landing again on our launchsite just next to the Cannstatter Wasen! In the event, everything worked [...]
And here are some nice ones from last Sunday! We did a wonderful morning flight with our 840m² gas balloon from the Ballonsportgruppe Stuttgart e.V., taking off at 4 o’clock from our launch site at the Cannstatter Wasen and flying in a north-northwesterly direction. Tracking by SPOT Gen2 by WeSPOT GbR – thanks guys ;-) [...]
Last Thursday, I went to the hairdresser’s in my new hometown. We got into talking about my hobby and the girl said that she’d probably never fly in a balloon, as she was too afraid about it. But some time ago, a balloon had almost landed in her garden, touching down on a field next [...]
Seven cylinders of propane, four VA70 and three VA50 with 344 liters altogether, served us as our fuel supply for our high altitude flight from Stuttgart to Bamberg last Saturday. We took off in the afternoon from the Cannstatter Wasen at 14:55 local as the visitors of the football match VfB Stuttgart vs. Hannover 96 [...]
On April 1st, it was time to officially introduce the new “Gitzenweiler Hof” balloon! :-) The weather didn’t quite cooperate, but luckily the famous campsite near Lake Constance has an appropriate venue for indoor inflations of balloons ;-) Thank you Gitzenweiler Hof for the photos, and of course for the wonderful new balloon! :-) [...]
Our next flight was only two days away – but almost all snow had disappeared by now! It was a busy Saturday in the Allgäu skies with five balloons taking off near Lechbruck and one near Seeg, and we could also hear our friends from Switzerland on the radio. This day also marked the (unofficial) [...]
Life goes on! ;-) And instead of flying over endless landscapes of sand, we’re now enjoying the last days of winter in our beautiful Allgäu. No less spectacular, yet so much more familiar! ;-) Thank you Daniela and Harald from Ballonteam Himmelsriesen for your beautiful pictures! :-) [...]
In the meantime, we and most of the other teams of the 4th Tunisian Balloons Festival have returned home, extremely disappointed, but safe and sound. Some teams have stayed in Marseille on their own expenses, hoping the Tunisian organisers will get things straight and book spaces for the next ferry on Sunday, March 18th. We [...]
The passion of a lifetime: To behold the stunning beauty of our world like no one else, free like a bird, high in the sky, yet one with nature, using the oldest principle of flight known to man: Lighter than air.
No wings, no noise, no pressure… just serenity, just perfect bliss. At one with the elements… at one with yourself.
This is why we live A LIFE OF BALLOONING.
