It’s a little town well known among balloonists: Annonay in the Département of Ardèche, France, where the brothers Joseph and Etienne de Montgolfier discovered the lighter-than-air principle back in 1783.
And as it lies close to our route to Marseille, we decided to have a stopover on our long way to Tunisia. The statue of the two famous brothers surely is worth a visit, and you will find store windows decorated with balloons almost everywhere you go.
