It was a looong crazy trip all across Tunisia, but we have finally arrived at the Sun Palm Hotel in Douz. Refuelling is set for noon, so no morning flight – a very welcome opportunity to catch some well deserved sleep ;-) [...]

The balloonists’ caravan is moving on towards the city of Douz, the ‘Gate to the Sahara’, south east of the great salt lakes. There we will spend the night, refuel our cylinders… and maybe even fly tomorrow! :D [...]

After we passed quite some time at the customs – they obviously didn’t like our aircraft radios ;-) – we fought our way through the rush hour in Tunis and then took the motorway 1 to the south. Refueling isn’t so easy here, as you can see, but it’s less than half the price than [...]

After a nice dinner and a good sleep, we have arrived safely in Tunisia and just left our ferry. Now to the customs… :) [...]

Goodbye Europe! For the next 24 hours, we’ll be aboard our ferry to Tunisia. WiFi? Maybe, maybe not… ;-) [...]

One of the advices we were given beforehand was that we would need a lot of patience on our trip… and well, obviously that proves to be true 😂 [...]

We have arrived safely in Marseille and are now waiting to board the ferry. The morning sun is warming us already and giving us a taste of the temperatures awaiting us at the other side of the mediterranean sea… :-) [...]

Our adventure has begun! We’re on the long road to Marseille, where we will meet the other balloon teams and board the ferry bound for Tunisia. Roads are free and everything is going smooth :-) [...]

Just one week later, we did another nice winter mountain flight together with some friends, taking off in Bad Hindelang and landing two hours later near Seeg. Could you imagine that over 400 hours and 14 years lie between the two envelopes? Thank you www.kubicekballoons.de! [...]
